Tuesday Rides 2025

Hi All,

Once again it looks like there will be an escape from the very cold weather to just cold weather, but this Tuesday without sunshine.

We will continue to keep the rides short, and stay away from narrow lanes with grass, gravel and deep potholes, until the weather improves.

Meet at Silver Ball, 10:30 onwards for 11:00 departure.

Nice ride out today for 11 club members. Start from the Silver Ball cafe then via Baldock, Hitchin, Shillington, Shefford and on to Shuttleworth collection cafe. Unfortunately it was closed today and tomorrow for renovation work. Alternative venue decided upon and a very nice lunch was had at Jordans Mill , Broom.

Hi All,

Happy New Year, Tuesday riders!

It looks like there will be an escape from the very cold weather to just cold weather with winter sunshine.

For the first ride of 2025 we will keep the ride short, approx. 40 miles, and stay away from narrow lanes with grass, gravel and deep potholes.

Meet at Arrington Filling Station, 10:45 onwards for 11:00 departure.

Lunch / coffee stop or what you will at Silver Ball.

Mental Health Motorbike

On Wednesday 4th December some 20 club members attended a talk in Whaddon Village Hall given by Martin Young from the Mental Health Motorbike charity.

Martin began by introducing himself and he stated that the aim of the charity was to provide a free face to face and online mental health first aid support for the biker community throughout the UK.  The charity existed to create meaningful and purposeful opportunities, for all bikers, so that together the wellbeing of the biker community was promoted.  He added that this could be achieved through 1 to 1 and peer support, events, training activities and projects, working in partnership with other organisations and clubs.

Martin then gave a number of statistics that highlighted that mental health issues amongst all people, not just bikers were more widespread than generally recognised and added that males, in the age range 20-49, were most at risk from self harm, or worse, as a result of mental health problems.

Martin outlined the support available and gave details of the training available for those wishing to become involved with the charity.  He concluded with a short question and answer session.

We would like to thank Martin for his insightful and thought  provoking talk to the club.

Here you will find information about recurring events & events that may be of interest to club members.

These events are scheduled to take place during 2026 but do not have an organiser / leader, from RDMCC, to ride to the event.

If any club member would like to take over the planning / organisation of RDMCC involvement with any of these events then the event can be transferred to the planned events section of the website.

A Social Evening at a venue to be announced via the WhatsApp group on the First and Third Wednesday of each month. During the summer months there may be a pre-meeting ride, if so the details of the ride will be sent to club members via WhatsApp.

Bike Stop Stevenage, 1st Sunday of each month during the spring / summer months. These rides are led by local bike clubs including Royston, Stevenage & Oakley. If Royston lead further information will be sent via the WhatsApp group.

Hi All,

This week’s ride out is the postponed ride that was planned for last week and will be the first of the winter season rides.

That is we will have shorter rides (avoiding very narrow lanes) and aim to be back in the Royston area by mid to late afternoon.

The ride will be to Elsenham Golf Club via The Original Tea Hut, Epping

Round trip approx. 90 miles.

Halfway stop at The Original Tea Hut, Epping.

Lunch at Elsenham Golf Club.

Meet at Silver Ball 09:30 onwards for 10:00 departure.

Hi All,

This week’s ride out will be to Mundford.

Route as shown on attached map and gpx file.

I haven’t shown a return route as there are two options both of which are well known to Tuesday riders.

Mundford – A11- A505 – Royston

Mundford – Horringer – Haverhill – A1307 – A11 – A505 – Royston

Outbound route 70 miles, return 60ish depending on route.

Halfway stop at Scotsdale Garden Centre, Fordham. Lunch at The Crown, Mundford.

Meet at Silver Ball 09:30 onwards for 10:00 departure.
