21/10/2025. Pistons & Rings, Staverton.

Hi All,

This week’s ride will be to Staverton.

Lunch at Pistons & Rings.

Meet at Silver Ball, 09:30 onwards for 10:00 departure.

A halfway coffee stop is planned at The Hidden Café, Newport Pagnell.

Route as shown on attached map and gpx files. Round trip is approx. 140 miles.

This week’s ride is subject to an assessment of the weather on Tuesday. I am seeing conflicting weather reports and as usual I prefer the optimistic reporting of Accuweather.

Also attached is an alternative shorter ride to the Blue Egg, Bardfield in case weather is bad.

Pistons & Rings is a themed “petrol head” cafe. Good plentiful parking. The café area is inside a tented area but was nice and warm even though a chilly day. Toilet block also appears temporary but very good facility.

Would be better if all day breakfast was offered as lunch menu although well prepared is a little limited.

Buntingford Classic Car Show

We are excited to announce that on Saturday, 6th September, Buntingford will host its annual Classic Motor Show from 10am to 4pm.

As in previous years, the Royston & District Motor Cycle Club will proudly display four classic motorcycles. If you own a motorcycle that fits this category and would like to showcase it, please get in touch with Alan Evans.

We look forward to seeing your classic motorcycles and making this event a memorable experience for all attendees.

Kevin Slater winner of 2024 Classic Motorcycle

The club understands that you may not be able to spend the entire day at the show. If this is the case, we have made arrangements for you to drop off your bike at Buntingford. We will then ensure you get back home and pick you up again at 4pm when the show concludes.

Additionally, the club is seeking volunteers who can spare an hour to man the stand and answer questions about the club and the bikes. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you are available, please reach out to Alan Evans.

We look forward to seeing you and your classic motorcycles at the event!
